Indigenous People’s Stories, Music and Art
Stories and Songs of the People is an ongoing effort to realise tolerance, understanding and acceptance between all peoples. The strength and wisdom found in our cultural diversity allows us to join together with many 'voices.' These voices, both traditional and contemporary, give us the opportunity to share a common voice with a collective vision towards our future. The oral traditions in Storytelling, Music, Dance and Art can be expressed in ways that affirm our identity as Indigenous peoples. The expression of our artistic and cultural symbols helps to foster the healing process by which we learn to live with one another, reconcile our differences, and exchange, through education, with the greater community.
Stories and Songs of the People hosts, facilitates and coordinates numerous events throughout Australia and internationally each year, in partnership with community members. Be sure to check out to this site to keep informed about upcoming Stories and Songs of the People events.
