The most striking thing that I keep remembering of our circle was the ability for such an intimate yet diverse group to engage as both presenters and presented, knowledge bearers and learners, friends and ‘relatives’,

to recognise and hear each other. From the National Parks staff to our invitees, for those who helped cook, clean and share what we had made together, of all ages, gender and cultural background -  Yet most significant and special to this were the two ‘takoja’ (little ones) who felt entirely safe enough to contribute with perspectives that engendered smiles and recognition from all who were there. And a young man who spoke so passionately about how similar experiences helped him to see our commonalities, even in our differences. It is both an honour and a privilege to witness the creation of a space where that can happen, as ultimately, in the end for me, that is who it is for, the next generations…
